The bottle is particularly distinctive yet understated with a frosted glass design. There is a women’s version, though, which is a touch fruitier. Nevertheless, it could certainly be worn by women. It does have some masculine notes such as ambergris and rosewood. While you could certainly wear Light Blue casually, it’s an excellent office fragrance for the summertime.įinally, Light Blue is only moderately masculine. You could probably wear it in the early evening as well but it’s best suited for when the sun is out. Otherwise, it’s largely a daytime fragrance. However, the fragrance is produced with men in the 20s in mind. However, it can easily be worn by people in their teens, in their 30s, in their 40s. Indeed, this is probably the most appropriate age range. If you like Dolce & Gabbana, The One that would be the most appropriate alternative.Īs I mentioned earlier, it’s particularly popular for men in their 20s. Meanwhile, winter and autumn probably not very well suited for this fragrance. It’s ideal for hot weather but you could probably wear it as well during the late springtime as well. You can probably guess that Light Blue is a distinctively summertime fragrance. However, the feedback I received was that while it was pleasant and inoffensive, it wasn’t exactly alluring or sensual. Light Blue is supposedly a compliment monster. It is indeed very inoffensive, very clean, which makes it a great professional fragrance, which we’ll discuss in the next section. Those in their 30s, were those ages when it was released and continue to wear it now. People in their 20s continue to gravitate to it. It tends to still be quite popular among a younger crowd despite having been released 13 years ago. Otherwise, it is often praised for its crisp and refined and summer notes. Although some people love it, others may find it to be a little bit overrated.įor instance, it has been compared to dish soap and there are occasional comments that it is somewhat bland. It is very well known among the fragrance community as well as the larger public. What People Think Of Dolce & Gabbana Light BlueĪs you are probably aware, Light Blue is an exceedingly popular fragrance. You don’t want to be that guy who you can smell before he enters the room. Instead, g et a travel atomizer and reapply regularly. However, I wouldn’t over-applicate to compensate for its short longevity. I’d say that you’d get a good meter of projection if you really covered yourself in it. Similarly, projection provides you with a decent scent bubble indeed. They tend to perform exceedingly well, which causes them to evaporate sooner. I expect its sillage is effective thanks to a composition mostly derived from volatile compounds. It leaves the wearer with an excellent trail behind them. The sillage, though, while it does last, is very good. However, I have heard through other reviewers that the intense version lasts significantly longer. You’re going to have to douse yourself in this for it to last longer. As for the performance, it is admittedly quite fleeting. You do get a quite classic dry down from the head all the way down to the base. The overall life cycle isn’t overly sophisticated. This expression is prevalent thanks to the ambergris, a white musk, that also delivers hints of pipe tobacco and sea breeze.Įarthy oakmoss offers a dry sensation while olibanum, related to frankincense, provides a distinctive conifer pine essence. Base NotesĪs you make your way to the base you’ll start to really pick out the fragrance’s aquatic facets. We may also detect a little bit of thyme, savoury, and some fragrant rosewood, which adds substance to this part of the fragrance. The heart really starts to express aromatics, especially rosemary. However, the black pepper really starts to show itself in the heart. It includes a crisp note of juniper, and you do detect a tiny bit of black pepper as well. This initial composition consists of bitter grapefruit as well as soft bergamot. Light Blue opens up with a distinctive citrus accord. Overall, it’s an aromatic citrus fragrance and we reviewed a bottle with the batch code 9189EM. In the following section, you’ll learn about Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue’s aroma profile.
